A cooperative preschool is formed by a group of parents who organize to provide their children with a quality preschool experience.  It is administered and maintained by the parents on a non-profit basis.  Parents assist in the classroom and participate in all aspects of the children’s activities.  The parent education program carried on throughout the year is an original feature of the cooperative preschool.  Parents, children, and their teachers all share in the learning experience.

At Village Preschool, we believe that the foundation of learning for the young child is creative play. Play is the means by which children learn about the world around them, test their knowledge and skills, problem solve and express their ideas and feelings. Our preschool makes provision for children’s constructive play by providing a warm and nurturing environment, a variety of developmentally appropriate materials and intelligent supervision.

Village Preschool is a member of Parent Cooperative Preschool of Oregon (PCPO). The PCPO provides a wide variety of information, ideas, education and program materials.  We are also a member of Parent Cooperative Preschool International, which serves as an educational and insurance resource.

Through parent participation we are able to keep tuition low and ensure a good adult to child ratio.
